Thing 14

Gliffy.com would be fantastic to use in my classroom. It is a great way to keep my students interested in information that may be a bit boring. I can make drawings and by using gliffy.com those drawing can come alive. I enjoyed searching through the site and seeing how many different types of charts I can make. For example, there are flowcharts, Venn diagrams, floor plans, food charts, etc. Also, it was very easy to use which is great because my students will be able to use it. For instance, one diagram I looked at is the Venn diagram. It was already laid out and included preset layouts and areas for text. With having so many charts my students will be able to learn about all the different kinds of charts available to them. One great feature  I noticed is that I can blog about what I am creating with one simple link. If my students do not use Gliffy.com I can still provide them with what I am doing through other sites they are using. Gliffy.com is not free and the is a negative.

Wow! I am excited to have been introduced to Mind Meister!!! I love that I can use it to present material to the class. I can easily use the preset templates and just put in the information I am presenting. Also, it is easy to move the information around. For example, if the students and I have just read a chapter in our social studies book we can use Mind Meister to brainstorm ideas together.  In addition, like Gliffy.com this site is easy to share. On the other hand, I did not like that you can only have one center point in mind mapping and I could not copy and paste what I did on one map and move it to another.
